The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 7.0
Camtasia Studio is a video studio that contains multiple edit, conversion, recording and capturing tools to design professional videos, demos and presentations. With an enhanced interface and wizards, new users will find it easier learning this program than in previous versions.
This version focuses on HD productions and a new variety of settings to get the right balance between high definition and ease of use. The help has been renewed plus the online tutorials will definitively clear any doubts users may have.
A new content area was added to display templates, music, and others. These are supplied from a third-party vendor (Digital Juice), additional content is also available for purchase. Other changes include new video effects and cursor customizations of the links when sharing videos with viewers, as well as an enhanced production wizard for uploading videos to YouTube.
Everything else remains the same: having the same powerful screen recording and editing tools users can choose to capture from video devices or from screen (by window or region), and add music tracks, microphone recordings, text and more.
Camtasia star features include the Power Point plug-in (to record presentations), smart focus (to make a video that zooms in on the parts needed to show), clips effects and transitions.
As if it wasn’t enough, the studio also includes extra applications like an audio editor, the CD presentation/MenuMaker, and a conversion tool to output the productions in MP4, FLV, AVI, WMV, MOV, animated GIF, MP3 audio, etc. |
